My undergraduate degree is in electrical engineering from Iowa State University. I spent the next decade working in the chemical industry until one day I had an epiphany: I felt far more rewarded helping people than making money for corporations.
At the time, my wife was eight months pregnant with our second child. I came home and told her I had just quit my job to become a chiropractor. (I’m still not entirely sure how I survived that conversation, but I’m grateful we both did.)
When I entered chiropractic school at Palmer College of Chiropractic-Florida, I wasn’t a typical student continuing the college party lifestyle. I was a man with purpose and a family to provide for. I didn’t study just to pass exams — I studied to master the material. I knew that once I graduated, I would be completely on my own in practice with no safety net. That drive led me to graduate as valedictorian of my class in 2005.
Yet in chiropractic, knowledge only gets you halfway. True success requires exceptional skill and precision in delivering effective adjustments. This is why I specialize exclusively in the Gonstead Technique — one of the most specific, hands-on systems in chiropractic care. Those who knew Dr. Clarence Gonstead often said he thought like an engineer. With my own background in electrical engineering, his methodical, biomechanical approach instantly resonated with me. I love troubleshooting the human body like a body engineer — using the Gonstead system to locate and correct the exact root cause of a patient’s problem. Dr. Gonstead built one of the largest chiropractic clinics in the world in Mount Horeb, Wisconsin — a 29,000-square-foot facility with 11 adjusting rooms, a hotel for out-of-town patients, and a private landing strip for those flying in from across the globe. His engineering mindset turned chiropractic into a precise, scientific discipline, and it remains the gold standard for results-driven care today.
Over the past 20 years in Gulf Breeze, Florida, I have had the privilege of treating more than 10,000 patients using the Gonstead method. I’ve helped high school, collegiate, and professional athletes return to peak performance, supported families through every stage of life, and guided hundreds of individuals through recovery from auto accident injuries and whiplash. Many patients travel from across Northwest Florida as well as from Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama seeking Gonstead care, as there are very few practitioners using this advanced technique in that direction. I also provide gentle, natural care for pregnant mothers, helping them find safe, drug-free relief from pregnancy-related back pain, pelvic pain, and sciatica so they can enjoy a more comfortable pregnancy.
Every day in practice, I’m reminded why I made the leap — there is nothing more rewarding than helping people move better, feel better, and live better without relying on medication or surgery.
